Has anyone had this happen with their newborn yet...?

well i was feeding and wasnt producing enough so i put my baby on formula.. well i was his feeding was at 2 and i was feeding him and was about to burp him when he threw up and it wasnt coming out his nose and his mouth!!.. i got the suction thing and suctioned it out his nose it scared the crap out of me and my husband is this normal..? and has it happened to you and do you know why..? was it that he got to full and was trying to eat more,,? i have him on a schedule and he eats 3oz every 3hrs he will b 3wks on thurs.. please reply back with any helpful answers thankyou
