I need help with my engine?

i have a metal to metal sort of clanking noise in the bottom of my 2.8l v6 stock chevy camaro engine, a couple mechanics have suggested the balancers? or the main/head bearing, if this is it would i be able to just buy a new bearing or balancer, and another mechanic said it might be a shot piston but none of them are completely sure on what it is
