What do i do when i pray for something i want?

ok well i prayed to have allot of things nd im not talking material things either, like to hang out with friends mor nd b closer to family and be more funny nd less depressed. while i prayed i also said everything i was tyankfull for nd i said that i have been spending as much time doing studies nd praying as possible. so like all this hasnt happend yet i mean the prayers havent been fully answerd, do i ask again? do i promise to do better nd read more bible nd stuff? im kinda new to being real religious so i need some help plzz!!
