Can full service real estate agents compete in a market with Discount Brokerages?

Canada's MLS system has just been found to be "non-competitive" by the Federal Competition Bureau. This will open the door for Discount Brokers into the market here. I know this has existed for awhile in the U.S., but I've never worked in that kind of a market. I'd be interested in hearing from any full service agent (those who charge around the 5% listing fee) who has continued to thrive amidst the competition of discount brokers. I'm freaking out, having only been in the business 3.5 years, but there is always change in any industry, but, for us here in this market, this is a mive shake up. Thanks
