My family won't let me press charges?

My cousin moved in with me. However things started going bad when my cousin & brother got drunk one night & my brother wrecked my cousins jeep. My cousin said he stole his car & wrecked it. But they where so drunk that no one could remember, My cousin put my brother in jail because of it. & he was going to press charges but didn't know if he would. My brother was told not to talk to my cousin from his attorney but my cousin kept going up my grandmothers house. Eventually last week my cousin beat the **** out of my brother. And my cousin lost his job & his girlfriend because he went to jail. He came to my house the night he got released & tried to kill me my brother & my husband by jabbing a screwdriver in the front door. as he left he hit my car. but didnt get through my door. the next day i found out he had been stealing checks from me & using them just to keep his job. I want to press charges. but my cousin is saying he will drop my brothers charges if i drop his. He derserves jail.
